History of St Alphonsus
St Alphonsus high school has the patron saint Alphonsus of Ligori Our school is a Minority Catholic (Christian)Institution of Hyderabad Archdiocese Educational Society (regd no 1162 of 1983). The school was established to educate the catholic children of the locality. However other students, irrespective of caste and creed are also admitted depending on the vacancies.
Fr. B. L. Peter (1992-94) being the founder started the school from non formal stage to a primary school which was consequently upgraded. His dream was fulfilled when the school started on June 12, 1992 with a strength of 300 students and 9 staff members. Just as the words of Fr. Peter "a good beginning is half done" we had a very good beginning. The permission and recognition for primary classes was achieved. It was just the beginning as the approval for high school building was also granted by his grace late Dr S Arulappa which was financed by Jan and Tony Gevers from Holland. The foundation was laid and the good work was handed down to Fr Y. Bala Reddy (ANNIE).
Fr. Yeruva Bala Reddy (1994-2001) the young dynamic principal took over the work with a lot of zest and enthusiasm.

The two storied building was constructed by Rev Fr B. Albert with the help of Jan and Tony Gevers from Holland. Amidst great pomp and gaiety it was inaugurated on 6th of Jan 1996. The permission and recognition for high school was also achieved |

A new computer lab was inaugurated with 14 computers. This was financed by late Rev Fr Thumma Francis |

Accounting was made easy on the office side by computerizing the fee collection with the good performance at the primary and middle level, the school was able to procure permission and recognition for establishing the high school |

The means of teaching had reached greater heights with the introduction of multimedia during the reign of Fr. Bala |
Fr Mathew T. M. (2001) when the sublime spirited father has taken over, the whole scenario had undergone a metamorphis the fruits of which are still being enjoyed.
All these and many more achievements of this dynamic principal led to the achievements of double sections with currently a total of 1400 students and 35 staff members. |
