History  of St Alphonsus

St Alphonsus high school has the patron saint Alphonsus of Ligori Our school is a Minority Catholic (Christian)Institution of Hyderabad Archdiocese Educational Society (regd no 1162 of 1983). The school was established to educate the catholic children of the locality. However other students, irrespective of caste and creed are also admitted depending on the vacancies.

Fr. B. L. Peter (1992-94) being the founder started the school from non formal stage to a primary school which was consequently upgraded. His dream was fulfilled when the school started on June 12, 1992 with a strength of 300 students and 9 staff members. Just as the words of Fr. Peter "a good beginning is half done" we had a very good beginning. The permission and recognition for primary classes was achieved. It was just the beginning as the approval for high school building was also granted by his grace late Dr S Arulappa which was financed by Jan and Tony Gevers from Holland. The foundation was laid and the good work was handed down to Fr Y. Bala Reddy (ANNIE).

Fr. Yeruva Bala Reddy  (1994-2001) the young dynamic principal took over the work with a lot of zest and enthusiasm.

The two storied building was constructed by Rev Fr B. Albert with the help of Jan and Tony Gevers from Holland. Amidst great pomp and gaiety it was inaugurated on 6th of Jan 1996. The permission  and recognition for high school was also achieved

A new computer lab was inaugurated with 14 computers. This was financed by late Rev Fr Thumma Francis

Accounting was made easy on the office side by computerizing the fee collection with the good performance at the primary and middle level, the school was able to procure permission and recognition for establishing the high school

The means of teaching had reached greater heights with the introduction of multimedia during the reign of Fr. Bala

Fr Mathew T. M. (2001) when the sublime spirited father has taken over, the whole scenario had undergone a metamorphis the fruits of which are still being enjoyed.

The tiny tots were given a special playground completely equipped with slide, swing, seesaw, merry go around, and a jungle gym

They also have an audio visual room for cartoons and other educative programmes

The multimedia was updated with the latest means of teaching that of a projector
New computers were added which increased the number drastically to twenty five
Classrooms were modified with cupboards, fans, bulletin boards, etc
In the field of sports a vast change had taken place with the construction of volley ball, basket ball, throwball and kho-kho courts. Shields and trophies started pouring in and we created a niche for ourselves in the sports arena
The tedious journey to school was made convenient and comfortable by the school bus being introduced
The office work was made easy by the installation of a photocopier
The future of the teaching staff was made secure when the gratuity was awarded to them

All these and many more achievements of this dynamic principal led to the achievements of double sections with currently a total of 1400 students and 35 staff members.
